Tissue clearing

Tissue clearing

Clearing methods aim to make large, fixed biological samples transparent to imaged and visualize biological processes in 3D in an organ or a whole organism.

The imaging platform of IERP has a recognized expertise in tissue clearing methods successfully developed for various tissues (lung, placenta, liver, intestin,…) and organisms (meal worm beetle, rabbit embryos, trout fry, carp, zebrafish). Depending on the nature and the size of the samples, various techniques can be offered based on high refractive index solutions (HISTODENZ), mixtures of detergents and amino alcohols (CUBIC) or organic solvents (IDISCO).
